The Focal Point volunteers are trained to receive telephone or in-person inquires, make an accurate initial assessment of a person's needs, and refer that person to appropriate services. The Focal Point Program provides ready access to a full range of available services that reflect the needs of older residents including transportation, housing, health care, Meals-On-Wheels, HMO's, Medicare, social legal services, and more. Art is a survivance, a way of holding on to stories and history, embodying a way of life, and expressing and sharing Indigenous identities. This program is sponsored by the Torrance Commission on Aging through the Torrance Community Services Department. No appointment is necessary and walk-in's are welcomeįor more information, please phone the Focal Point at (310) 320-1300. Focal Point is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.
The Focal Point program is housed in the Russ Nolte Annex, located at 1339 Post Avenue, next to the Bartlett Senior Citizens Center in downtown Torrance.
